May have also been a "huntsman spider" they're all related. But, at any rate, while the little beasts look pretty scary they're relatively harmless. They only bite if you squeeze 'em. Also they have no *real* venom.

They're fast though aren't they?

Just stumbled onto the blog via a google search for "inject applesauce." Delightfully pleased to have found the blog.

"The biggest surprise of the day was how tall one of my cousins has gotten; this girl tops five feet and is only in middle school, maybe 13 years old or so." More accurately the girl is in 5th grade and is about 10 years old.

Rather than check your blog every several weeks, it seems we need to check in practically daily. Lots happening...all good. Congrats!

This sounds good. Better than IBM where basically you seem to be applying for nothing and probably getting the same in return.
SAIC, however seems to appreciate your potential. Bet they figure something out for the summer. Good luck!

Very few things in life are certain. Many in the U.S. say it's only death and taxes. Worldwide I would say it's only death. So pressing forward was the correct decision. A rule of thumb I was taught during my career was the 80 - 20 rule. That is you will know usually at best only 80% and the other 20% will be uncertain (sometimes even afterward). It turns out that 80% is all you need to make a correct decision the very vast majority of the time. Your experience with those wanting perfection (100%) is exactly what happens - the 100% can't be had so the decision/event dies in gridlock or for lack of support because others simply give up. Nice job. And I'm pleased you were able to convince others to proceed.
